In life as we grow, change and progress, there are periods of explorations...periods of stillness...and then periods that we bring forth our new developments, sharing our revised selves with the world. Refined Eclecticism is an expression of this experience in my career as a designer. As some of you may know, this body of work is my 1st in 2 years. I took a hiatus to go to grad school and earn my Masters in Art with a focus on design & craft. During that period, I ventured into furniture design, metalsmithing, ceramics, and wood sculpture. Although leather is my one true love it is nice to have new materials to "play' with. For 2 years I quietly explored, gathered inspiration and discovered a collective theme of muted, understated, refined levels of funk! Bold, loud, outrageous expressions still have their place and purpose but sometimes less is more. Refined Eclecticism: Pared down, authentic statements of individuality that speak volumes without making a sound.
