JAMES CASCIANO· HEAD COACH Casciano is the third men's basketball head coach in program history. He comes to Johnson & Wales after spending the previous two years as men’s basketball head coach at the University of Maine-Presque Isle in Presque Isle, ME. In over 30 years of collegiate coaching, Casciano has the rare distinction of having coached at every level of both two- and four-year colleges. He has led the programs at two-year schools Valley Forge Military and Union County College (NJ), NAIA program Castleton State, NCAA Division III King’s College (PA) and NJIT, who transitioned from NCAA Division II to Division I during his tenure. His most recent post at Maine-Presque Isle saw the Owls maintain dual affiliations with NCAA Division III and the USCAA. In the 2014-15 season - his first at Johnson & Wales - Casciano led the Wildcats to their first winning season in program history, finishing 20-11 on the year. Highlights included hoisting the JWU Cup after a dominant 90 -61 victory over Johnson & Wales Providence and reaching the semifinals of the USCAA Division II National Championship after defeating Penn State-York in the quarterfinals. For his efforts, Casciano was named the USCAA Division II Coach of the Year for men's basketball. Casciano, known as a great rebuilder of programs, has over 300 career wins as a head coach. He has been named conference coach of the year on two separate occasions. His teams have advanced to postseason play at four of his previous head coaching stints. In addition to his head coaching duties, Casciano helps oversee Game Operations within the department. Casciano began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant to Rollie Massimino at Villanova. He also served as an assistant coach at Delaware, Washington & Lee, Old Dominion, and Radford. Casciano played collegiately at Drexel, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1977. He is married to his wife, Daphne, and they now reside in Huntersville, NC. GARRY FRAZIER · ASSISTANT COACH

CLAUDE LOUIS· ASSISTANT COACH

Frazier has been with Johnson & Wales Men’s Basketball program since 2009, when the team first began at the club level.

Louis is no stranger to JWU head coach Jim Casciano as he played for him at both Union County College and the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

He brings over 10 years of coaching experience to the program, and has apportioned much of his time and vigor into building character and integrity amongst the players in the JWU Charlotte basketball program. In his current role as Associate Head Coach, Frazier looks forward to contributing to the expansion and growth of the athletic program along with fostering tenacity and fortitude in his players to utilize on the court as well as throughout their adult lives. Coach Frazier lives in Charlotte.

During his playing career, Claude surpassed the 1,000 point mark and earned First Team D-III AllIndependent honors. He was also selected as team captain. Claude graduated in May 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
