Residential Tower- Boston, MA Spring 2011- Housing and Aggregation Studio

My design manifested itself in the form of a tower, housing thirty-six units accross eighteen floors. Along with private ammenities for the residents, there is also a cafe and art gallery that is open to the public.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

This Studio was a semester long exploration of the housing typology in an urban setting. Beginning with a site-independent typological prototype excercise, our project was then placed in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston and developed from the typological excercise.

Environmental House- Olympia, WA/ Denver, CO Spring 2011- Environmental Systems

An exploration into the reduction of energy waste and environmentally conscious design, this project had an ambiguous program and was region specific to design for the respective climates of Washington as well as Colorado.

The narrative specifics of the project included 2,000 square feet of interior floor space and a volumetric limit of 30,000 cubic feet placed on a 100’x100’ parcel with a one to six slope. This semster long project was developed along with Andrew Cunningham, A fellow classmate.

Urban incubator and Master Plan- Worcester, MA

A semester long intervention for the city of Worcester with the aim to reanimate a 22 acre portion of the city that was being ME CHA NICoversized parking taken up by an abandoned mall and STR EET structure. After making the master plan, we develop a concept for an urban incubator within a node of the newly constructed urban fabric to house community and educational facilities.

Urban elementary school- Boston, MA Spring 2009- Studio 2

A semester long project that covered a precedent study of revolutionary school designs of the 19th century, a contextual sity analysis, a typological classroom design and ultimately an elementary school that incorporated public elements into its design for use by the community.
