Dentro de la gran lista de lugares en los que se elabora el zacahuil se encuentra Tepetzintla, un sitio en el que la mayor parte de la población vive en torno a este platillo. En este municipio se elaboran diariamente más de trescientos zacahuiles para consumo local y regional. La cantidad se vuelve más exorbitante cuando se conoce el tamaño, pues un zacahuil puede llegar a medir más de metro y medio de largo por un metro de ancho y pesar más de treinta kilogramos. Un zacahuil de estas dimensiones rinde para deleitar a cien personas.

But one thing is true, the Zacahuil is one of the dishes that the people like the most, they can be prepared watery or dried, and can be prepared using different ingredients. Not only people from the Huastec region in Veracruz like it, but in the Huasteca region from other states too, like Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas.
Inside the great list of places where the zacahuil can be made, we found Tepetzintla, a place in which most of the population lives around this plate. In this municipality they prepared daily more than three hundred zacahuiles for regional and local consumption. The quantity is more exorbitant when we consider its size. The size of a zacahuil can be around one meter and a half long or even more and one meter wide, more than sixty five pounds of weight. A zacahuil of these dimensions can be eaten by a hundred people.

Lo cierto es que es uno de los alimentos que más se consume en la región y se puede encontrar en una amplia variedad de estilos en cuanto a consistencia (aguado y seco), modos de preparación y empleo de ingredientes. Es común hallarlo en los municipios y comunidades de la vasta región norte de Veracruz, así como en la zona huasteca de los estados de Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí y Tamaulipas.
