Head Coach • 37th year at JMU • Surpassed 400-win plateau on March 26, 2011 at Longwood and has a 415-275 (.601) career coaching record • Three individual players garnered AllCAA honors in 2012—one All-CAA Second Team for singles, one All-CAA Third Team for singles and two All-CAA Third Team for doubles competition • United States Tennis Association 1997 and 2003 Virginia Coach of the Year • 1989-90 Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year • Coached three NCAA national qualifiers (1986, 1987, 2000) • Team recognized as ITA All-Academic in 1997, ’98, ’99. ’00, ’03, ’04, ’05, ’06, and ’10 • Coached 28 ITA Scholar Athletes • Received bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from William & Mary • Earned master’s degree in kinesiology from James Madison • Loves Star Trek and antiques
Candynce Boney Assistant Coach • Second year at JMU • Two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 at UMass • A-10 Rookie of the Year in 2008 • Won singles state title in Nevada as a senior in high school (64-0) and doubles title as a freshman • Played for Team Agassi from age 10 until completion of high school in Las Vegas • Obsessed with Tweety Bird and Michael Jackson
