Product Information Definitions Institutional rates apply to all customers buying for the use of more than one person. Personal rates apply to all customers purchasing for the use of one person (enduser name must be provided). Definition of relevant Full Time Equivalents (FTEs): • Hospitals: Total number of clinicians, pharmacists and researchers (does not include nurses) • Corporate institutions: Total number of researchers and medical information employees • Government institutions, regulatory agencies, and all others: Total number of professionally qualified staff • Academic Institutions: Total number of medical faculty (academic staff and students) and researchers BMJ, BMJ Journals Institutional Online access Standard FTE pricing tiers: • Small (1-400 FTE) • Medium (401-1,500 FTE) • Large (1,501-3,000 FTE). • Extra large (3,001 FTE and above)1 Please note that these pricing tiers apply only to single-site institutions and also exclude hospitals and hospital systems in USA and Canada, where pricing is based on bed-size. Acupuncture in Medicine will increase from 64 to 72 pages per issue. Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases will include two bumper issues in 2012 and include translated content on the website. Best Practice includes new display formats for quicker, easier comparison of treatments, and is available on iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad - institutional access rates available. Local language content and search options now available for Best Practice - price on request. BMJ Case Reports now includes significantly more (over twice as many) articles. BMJ Open article processing charges will be held at 2011 rates. BMJ Quality & Safety is adding new articles types: How to… (Write QI reports; Process Mapping; User Testing), Commentaries, Viewpoints, narrative reviews. The website is including more resources e.g. calendar, journal scan type content, training resources. BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care prices will be held for 2012. BMJ will include Continuing Medical Education (CME), more audio podcasts, video content related to educational articles, and investigative pieces on important subjects. The website and the print journal will be redesigned for 2012. British Journal of Ophthalmology will include one CME module per issue. Clinical Evidence has a new design and layout and includes extra tools for learning and teaching evidence-based medicine Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin (DTB) was relaunched and redesigned in 2011 and now includes DTB Select - concise summaries of recently published guidance, advice, safety warnings etc. - and two CME/CPD modules per issue (both in print and online via BMJ Learning) based on DTB reviews. European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy – Science and Practice is a new title, containing original research and practical professional content for the hospital pharmacist. Evidence-Based Medicine will include at least one original research article per issue in 2012. Heart now covers translational medicine. Journal of Clinical Pathology will include more MCQs and education content, and an images database. Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health will include sections on interventional studies and two supplements Journal of Family Planning & Reproductive Healthcare now includes blogs, news, podcasts and conference reports. Journal of Medical Genetics will include themed content and CME in 2012. Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery will increase frequency from quarterly to bimonthly. Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association will increase by at least 16 pages per issue in 2012. Practical Neurology will include interactive CME. Sexually Transmitted Infections now contains more podcasts and two supplements. Important information Address changes All change of address requests must be submitted promptly in writing. Any claim requests relating to a late address change notification will only be fulfilled in exceptional circumstances.
Consolidation mailing address We will accept the use of consolidation mailing addresses, but full end-user address details must be provided. This is particularly important where there is an online component to the subscription.
Cancellations Once an order has been placed it is not possible to cancel and receive a refund, unless an exact duplicate subscription has been ordered in error. In this case we will accept a cancellation of one of the orders. We cannot accept a cancellation to a subscription that involves the reduction in size of an institutional FTE tier or publication, once an order has been processed. Please note that all end user customers will be subject to our terms and conditions and the relevant online licence, which other than as stated below must be brought to their attention via the agent/bookseller before placing an order.
Customer email addresses For all orders that include online access we require a customer email address. This will enable us to inform the end-user of the activation process for their subscription.
