To cut down on waste, the company does not use boxed packages for onboard food or snacks and uses recycled paper for leaflets. All soaps and toiletries are made from natural ingredients and engine additives minimize train emissions. In addition, Inca Rail sponsors and supports activities that promote the cultural heritage and conservation of Peru.

Activities The magical Inca city of Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated atop a granite mountain, is simply amazing. Travelers from all over the world come to the Andes to explore this important archeological wonder and its beautiful surroundings. Don’t miss the Temple of the Sun and Intihuatana (sun dial), as well as the Temple of the Condor, all preserved to offer a glimpse into the fascinating Inca civilization. Area hikes, bird-watching and viewing exotic flowers are also popular activities.

Location Inca Rail provides round-trip train service from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu, a 1.5-hour trip through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas in Peru’s Cusco region. There are nine railcars: five Tourist Service, two Executive Service, one First Class Service and one Presidential Service, with a total capacity of 362 seats. Inca Rail offers three departures daily to Machu Picchu and three returning to Ollantaytambo.
