Philanthropy Singita Grumeti Reserves plays an active role in conserving the wildlife that make this part of the Serengeti home. Environmental education has been identified as a top priority in helping the country address the effects of climate change and the destruction of biodiversity. The Environmental Education Centre was opened on the reserve to educate young school children and to ensure that local communities experience the benefits of preserving the wildlife and natural environment of the reserves which they border, and are so encouraged to play a role in their preservation. They’ve also taken the lead in creating programs to support the local community, establishing a number of sustainable agricultural projects including vegetable gardens, bee keeping, fish farming, a piggery and a sunflower oil initiative. The Grumeti Fund Scholarship was established to provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged individuals in neighboring communities.

Activities The main attractions of each day are the wildlife drives in open Land Rovers led by experienced guides. Every time you leave the camp, you’re sure to see wildlife beyond numbering. During June and July, guests can enjoy the annual wildebeest migration that passes right through Singita Grumeti Reserves. No matter the time of year, guests can always enjoy the reserve’s teeming wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, impalas, warthogs, topi, gazelles, hyenas, lions, leopards and cheetahs. In the evenings, enjoy quiet pursuits such as reading, writing, chess, stargazing or trading stories around the campfire as you listen to the call of jackals or the distant roll of thunder.
