Singita Ebony Lodge

Breakfasts and luncheons are enjoyed on the deck overlooking the Sand River and African savannah. Whether you choose a gourmet meal in the dining room or a romantic dinner in your suite, you’ll find a fusion of venison, fresh fish, pastas, soups and vegetables. Dining around a fire in the Boma under a starlit sky while a Shangaan choir sings is the perfect setting for haute cuisine African style. Menus are tailored to your desires and Ebony’s comprehensive wine cellar offers hundreds of vintages to complement your choices.

Philanthropy The Singita Community Development Trust has, since 2009, been working together with the READ Educational Trust, a non-profit organization, to introduce and increase effective and constructive teaching methodologies into the preschools that serve the Justicia and Lillydale villages, communities situated on the boundary of the Singita Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Support provided is holistic and ranges from guidance in the running and management of a pre-school; to formal training courses, focusing on the effective development of children’s literacy and numeracy skills; and the provision of educational materials. 2011 represents the third year of a four-year program and, once complete, Singita will offer the same support to a further 10 preschools in the area.

Activities The sound of creatures awakening to a new day will stir your senses, as nature’s primal story unfolds on the grandest of all stages. Guided by experienced rangers and game trackers, guests are invited to participate in earlymorning and evening spot-lit game drives in open Land Rovers. Wildlife is abundant at the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, where herds of buffalo and elephant, large prides of lion, majestic leopards, antelope by the thousands, birdlife and smaller animals can be seen. Guided bush walks and community tours can also be arranged.
