In 2008, the JCCC Nursing Program celebrated the opening of a state-of-the-art Healthcare Simulation Center. This past year an adjacent debriefing suite was completed to complement simulation training through video review of the simulation scenarios.With the patient simulation center, the nursing program is able to increase the number of registered nurses entering the profession each year. Additional courses can be offered in phlebotomy certification, post-anesthesia care, acute and emergency care, operating room nursing certification and RN first assistance, as well as a transition course for paramedics wanting to become nurses. Donors to the center are the Educate, Enrich and Enable Fund, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation; Mary Katharine Goldsmith; Olathe Medical Center; Victor E. Speas Foundation, Bank of America, trustee; and Drs. David and Mary Zamierowski.
