Das extra für die Eröffnungsfeier des Flying Grass Carpet gegründete „under palm trees sextett“ versammelt einen bunten Strauss der besten Ruhrgebietsmusiker. Auf der Basis der freien Improvisation steht das Thema Blumen im Vordergrund. Es werden alte Songs und Jazzstandarts ausgegraben und umgetopft. Ob erdige Grooves oder blühende Saxophon- und Gitarrensoli, das „under palm trees sextett“ lässt gute Laune aus der Gießkanne fließen!
The “Under Palm Trees-Sextet” specially founded for the opening show of the Flying Grass Carpet, combines a colourful mixture of the best musicians from the Ruhr area. On the basis of free improvisation the main focus is on the theme of ‘flowers’. Old songs and Jazz standards are dug out or rearranged. Earthy grooves or blossoming saxophone and guitar solos, the “Under Palm Trees-Sextet” lets good vibes pour out of the watering can!
