Spun Light: ieri e oggi Nel 2002 ho presentato Spun Light, la reazione è stata molto positiva e ho ricevuto ordini da tutto il mondo. In quel periodo producevo i miei lavori da solo, ma quattro mesi dopo SaloneSatellite Flos mi ha contattato e l'anno dopo ha lanciato la collezione Spun Light. Presentare il mio lavoro a Milano ha alimentato il mio interesse per il product design, il successo della collezione mi ha incoraggiato a mettere in produzione altre idee. Questo atteggiamento positivo è stato fondamentale per la creazione di Established and Sons, di cui sono co-fondatore. Senza dubbio se non avessi partecipato al SaloneSatellite oggi non sarei dove sono.
Spun Light: past and present In 2002 I presented my Spun Light collection, the reaction was very positive and I received many orders from across the world, at the time I was producing them myself, then four months after SaloneSatellite, Flos contacted me requesting a meeting and subsequently they launched the Spun Light collection. Presenting in Milan for the first time fueled my interest in product design, the success of the Spun Light collection, gave me confidence to push other ideas into production. This ‘can do’ attitude was essential in the start up of Established and Sons, of which I was a co founder. I can honestly say that if I did not present at the Salone Satellite in 2002 I would not be where I am today.

L’incontro che non dimenticherà mai La cosa più incredibile è stato ricevere una telefonata dall'ufficio di Piero Gandini (Flos) e chiedere al suo assistente se Gandini fosse un architetto... Pensavo volesse comprare delle lampade! Consigli a un giovane designer Molto semplice: segui l'istinto, lavora con passione e determinazione, ma non essere troppo indulgente con te stesso.
The meeting I will never forget Receiving a phone call from Piero Gandini’s (Flos) office and asking his assistant if Mr Gandini was an architect... I had no idea who he was. I thought he was calling to buy some lights!!! A word of advice for young designers Very simple: follow your instinct, be passionate and determined but don’t be too self indulgent.
