InterContinental Manila, the longest operating international chain hotel in the Philippines, is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year having officially opened its doors to the global community on April 11, 1969. To commemorate the event, the hotel held several activities aimed to reward guests and members of the InterContinental community. The 45th-year anniversary celebration of InterContinental Manila commenced with an exhibition showcasing entries taken by select participants of the 45th Anniversary Photo Contest where they were allowed to take photos of hotel rooms, restaurants, and other hotel facilities. The exhibit also featured archived photographs showing the hotel’s construction phase in 1968, hotel inauguration, the opening team of the hotel and rare photographs of the original design of guestrooms and outlets.
As part of its anniversary campaign, InterContinental Manila hosted a series of activities with the theme “45 years, 45 blessings”. The roster of activities included random acts of kindness such as Free Ice Cream treats for hotel guests and passers-by, FREE Stored Value MRT cards at the Ayala Station, free parking tickets at Glorietta Parking, free snacks to taxi drivers, and free fresh bananas and water to runners at Ayala Triangle Gardens. Since its opening, InterContinental Manila has been known for its legacy of unparalleled service, a landmark hotel that mirrors Filipino hospitality, history, and world class service.
