Adam Rahman As a faculty member within the Department of Communication Design, Adam Rahman co-ordinates the technical production of OER at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He holds a Master of Arts in African Art and Culture and is currently completing a doctorate degree exploring the thematic digitisation of canoe culture iconography along the east coast of Ghana. He possesses a Designing Learning certificate from the American Society for Training and Development and was a fellow in the University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars Program in 2010, where he worked extensively on OER-related issues. His research interests include instructional design and packaging design, and he holds memberships in the Ghana Institution of Graphic Artists and the Institute of Packaging, Ghana. ad2gh@yahoo.com

Yvonne Reed Dr. Yvonne Reed teaches undergraduate and post-graduate courses in language and literacy education in the School of Education at the University of the Witwatersrand. Many of her published articles and book chapters are in the field of distance education, with materials design being a particular focus of her research. She has coedited two books: Challenges of Teacher Education: An Investigation of Take-up in South Africa (2002) and Designing and Delivering Distance Education: Quality Criteria and Case Studies from South Africa (2005). yvonne.reed@wits.ac.za

Carolina Rossini Carolina Rossini — JD, LLM, MA in International Negotiations, MBA — is an expert in intellectual property, with ten years of experience in software, content, Internet licensing and commonsbased approaches. She works on OER policy and projects, founding and leading the OER-Brazil Project. She serves on the Global Agenda Council for Intellectual Property for the World Economic Forum and is a Board Member at the Brazilian Institute of Internet Law. Previously, she led the Brazil Catalyst Project at Wikimedia Foundation and was a Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard. In Brazil, she worked for Telefonica Group, the Ford Foundation, Creative Commons Brazil, and at the FGV Law School, where she co-ordinated the Legal Clinical Program and taught law. carolina.rossini@gmail.com
