Please note that due to copyright regulations, only one article may be requested per journal issue. If you require several articles from the same issue, please make one request for the whole issue. 6.4 Copyright and the law Copyright is an intellectual property right, which protects the rights of authors. It is generally accepted that under the “fair dealing” principle individuals are allowed to copy:
No more than one complete chapter of a book or 5% of the total publication. No more than one whole article in an issue of a serial publication or in a set of conference proceedings
7. Library web site To go to the library website go to: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/hsmc-library You will not need any additional downloads or log ons to search the library website. To get the most from the website, go to the Library services page and choose your user group from the list. You will then see a detailed explanation of the services available to you. 8. Databases 8.1 HMIC via HSMC The library has an individual subscription to HMIC for the benefit of users who are unable to access it any other way. Contact the library staff for the log on details. Help using this version of HMIC. 9. Computer facilities There is an IT Resource Room at Park House which contains 12 PCs, including one PC for disabled access, along with a networked printer. A further 5 PCs and printer are available within the library. Please note that the IT Resource Room can only be used by registered members of the library.
