Professional Development Security Officer Certification 8 & 16 Hours Launch a career in security, the military or law enforcement with instruction from highly trained professionals and the NYPD. This program successfully blends community service and safety training which can translate into a job in the professional security or safety industry and Homeland Defense. Begin your training with the mandatory 8-hour Pre-Assignment Training Course. This general introductory course is needed to be hired as a security guard. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued a training certificate that must be submitted to the Department of State to register as a security officer. Once the application is submitted, you will have 90 days to complete the second training course: 16 Hour On-the-Job Training. The objectives of this course expand upon topics relating to basic functions and responsibilities of the security guard's specific duties, the nature of the workplace and employer requirements. Your analytical thinking will be put to the test with role playing and hands-on training. Locksmith Certificate Program Unlock the key to your success by becoming a certified locksmith.This comprehensive 90-hour course will equip you with the necessary skills to perform a number of locksmith jobs from making keys and broken key extractions to installation of various locks. As a growing essential trade, locksmith training could lead to your own business or employment with a locksmith, home improvement store, automotive center, security firm and more. This course is designed to introduce students to locks and cylinders used in commercial and residential buildings. Troubleshoot common pin tumbler cylinder problems and simple master key systems, and cross- reference key blanks. Gain hands-on experience with cam, lever, mortise and secondary locks. Fri 6pm to 9pm & Sat 10am to 1pm 9/27-11/1/13 CE5001-F01 30 hrs. 10 sessions $399 Locksmith II (30 hrs) Prerequisite: Locksmith I Perform master pinning and keying techniques, broken key extractions and work with mortise locks. Apply these techniques to several brands and types of locks. Become familiar with the features, functions and installation of high security locks such as Medeco速 and Mul-T-Lock速.
