Jourdan Willard begins her first season as the director of basketball operations. She spent the 2008-09 season as the team’s undergraduate assistant coach, where she helped conduct the team’s film exchange and also assisted in perimeter development. In her new role, Willard is responsible for many of the day-to-day activities of the basketball program, and also assists with the new Full Court Press women’s basketball booster club. Willard spent two seasons (2006-08) as a letterwinner on the squad before seeing her playing career end prematurely due to a hip injury. She appeared in 19 contests in 2007-08, making one start at the forward position despite being unable to practice for the majority of the season.Willard led the team in field goal percentage (.500) while averaging 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. During the 2006-07 season, she started 15 of the final 17 games of the season after sitting out the first 13 games of the season due to NCAA transfer regulations, averaging 6.2 points per game. Willard had four double-figure scoring games and two-nine rebound performances. She posted a career-high 15 points against Portland State, shooting a career best 6-of-10 from the field. She is a product of El Camino High School in Sacramento, where she is the school’s second all-time leading scorer. Willard was a two-time first team all-Capital Athletic League choice for the Eagles. Willard graduated this past spring with a degree in business administration.
