HIGH SCHOOL Played baseball for three years under head coaches Jerry Crews and Greg Olsen at Bella Vista HS...named Capital Valley League MVP and second team all-state by MaxPreps following his senior year in 2012...helped Bella Vista to league titles as a sophomore, junior and senior...hit .464 as a senior in 84 at-bats with 19 runs, a team-high 22 RBIs, six doubles, one triple and two home runs...struck out just six times while posting a .505 on-base percentage...on the mound, he went 4-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 41 innings with 41 strikeouts...did not make an error as a senior while playing first base and in the outfield...hit .305 in 95 at-bats as a junior with 16 runs, 19 RBIs and five doubles...also pitched his junior season, with a 5-2 record and a 2.09 ERA in 50.1 innings with 35 strikeouts...also played football and basketball...went 16-for-26 with 257 yards and three touchdowns as the starting quarterback on homecoming against Yuba City in his senior season. PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE Played two seasons at the College of the Sequoias for head coach Jody Allen...as a sophomore, he hit .305 in 141 at-bats with 15 runs, 21 RBIs, seven doubles and one triple...made just six errors in 37 games while playing shortstop and second base...hit .275 as a freshman in 102 at-bats with 19 runs, 13 RBIs and nine doubles...made seven errors in 38 games. HIGH SCHOOL Played shortstop for four seasons under head coaches Larry Tiger and Rich Leavens at Lemoore HS...hit .462 in 91 at-bats with 29 runs, 24 RBIs, 12 doubles, four triples and three homes as a senior in 2010...struck out just nine times and posted a .557 on-base percentage...led the team by going a perfect 18-for-18 on stolen base attempts...named first team all-West Yosemite League as a senior in 2010...a second team all-WYL choice as a junior in 2009 and an honorable mention selection as a freshman in 2007...also played football and was the quarterback in his sophomore and junior seasons.
