The Antique Impressions brand of exclusive hardwood flooring is a distinctive expression of individuality. Unique in the industry for our focus on small batch, handcrafted flooring, we are obsessed with bringing forth original niche products with value that is unequaled in today's marketplace. The entire line of Antique Impressions flooring, designed and manufactured by Creative At Home, is made with strict adherence to our core principles of quality, originality, and service.

Our Passion Every product in the Antique Impressions family of original creations is a reflection of an underlying concept: our flooring is designed to celebrate the beauty that nature expresses through the richness of colours and textures inherent in real wood. We take pride in the ability to enhance wood’s intrinsic splendor through a variety of artisanal techniques which include hand staining, fuming, bleaching, glazing and hand texturing, all the while striving to maintain the wood’s natural, true character. It is our deep held wish that those who have come to love our handcrafted wood flooring appreciate our commitment to these principles, and to the unquestionable beauty of real wood.

"Our mission is to be the most sought-after source of superior handcrafted wood products internationally. We encourage creativity and forward thinking in our employees, resulting in leading edge designs that merge innovative craftsmanship with unsurpassed quality and function. We take pride in providing service with honesty and integrity, and manufacturing our products with a vision toward an environmentally sustainable future”

DACS Construction

Creative At Home’s patented DACS (Design for Advanced Core Stability) system of engineered flooring is a highly innovative breakthrough that combines unparalleled dimensional stability with a finished form almost indistinguishable from solid wood flooring. DACS engineered flooring uses structural grade Douglas fir, a well managed renewable resource from Canadian forests. Solid side strips and cross-laminated fillets are assembled into an innovative structure designed to exhibit superior dimensional stability, both laterally and longitudinally. The use of solid side strips also serves the dual purpose of closing off the end grain of the crosslaminated fillets to greatly reduce the structure’s ability to absorb or shed moisture during seasonal changes. Another feature of DACS engineered flooring is the specially designed fillets for the tongue and groove of the end joints which have their grain oriented in such a way as to achieve maximum strength when the end joints are glued together (as is always recommended). The majority of our products are available in DACS engineered construction, and a limited selection is available in solid construction.

Top Layer: Solid Hardwood Wear Layer • Thick solid-sawn veneer allows for multiple re-sandings • True solid plank look with engineered stability • Highest-quality zero formaldehyde adhesive used for gluing components together

Side Strips: Solid Douglas Fir • Contributes to overall stability by sealing off fillet endgrain, thereby reducing changes to core moisture content. • DACS tongue and groove simulate the function and appearance of solid wood flooring

Middle Layer: Douglas Fir Cross-Laminated Fillets • Superior rigidity prevents cupping and width shrinkage • Nail down strength identical to solid wood flooring Bottom Layer: Solid Douglas Fir Balancing Layer • Same thickness as wear layer for the ultimate in balanced stability • Improved performance for glue-down applications

DuRa-Finish™

We developed our innovative DuRa-Finish™ to capture the best of two worlds – that of Durability, and that of Radiance. Often in today’s marketplace of mass produced flooring, consideration is given only to either the surface hardness of the finish (in the form of anti-scratch UV finishes), or to the wood’s appearance (oil finishes). DuRa-Finish™ is an innovative finishing process that uses technologically advanced coatings that are applied by the more traditional air dried method. The result is a synthesis that is extremely durable, yet exhibiting a high degree of clarity and lustre to produce the most radiant, natural looking finish available today.
