TARDINESS: Students are expected to arrive at the clinical site on time. If delayed, the clinical coordinator and site preceptor must be informed by phone. For in-patient rotations, it is especially important to arrive early each day to visit patients and to prepare for rounds. Should a student be physically present on a site but away from the team, he/she will be considered absent. It is not acceptable to go to the library to study or to be away from the team without the preceptor’s knowledge and permission. Students are required to follow the schedule set by their preceptor. Students should arrive at the facility before their scheduled shift, and remain on the site until excused by the preceptor. Students are expected to take call as designated by the preceptor. Students are expected to work weekends and holidays with their team. University holidays do not pertain to the clinical year. Snow days do not pertain to the clinical year. Students may not take days off during this rotation. Please refer to the Clinical Year Handbook for further discussion. DISABILITIES POLICY: Please refer to page 24 of the Physician Assistant Student Handbook.
