Our

Mission: The mission of Arden Courts is to be the number one choice for Alzheimer’s and dementia memory care services by providing a home-like, safe and supportive setting that nurtures the individuality of memory-impaired people and gives their families peace of mind.

Residential living, combined with quality caregiving. A well-planned, secure and simple environment. The freedom to pursue one’s own interests and enjoy one’s surroundings. Just the right amount of assistance and structure to help make the most of each person’s capabilities. And most of all, an environment that preserves the warmth, the caring, the comforts and the routines of home. This is the philosophy behind Arden Courts – residences created exclusively for individuals living with memory loss.

Why Arden Courts?

They include us, too – the whole family.

At Arden Courts, we spent more than five years researching and developing the design, layout and programming of the community. It is not a dementia unit, locked hall or wing like other facilities. We offer specific programming throughout the day, secure walking paths and courtyard areas in a home-like, comfortable setting. Residents are free to explore and be as active as they would like. Since memory care is all we do, our family members are our biggest supporters and recommend us to others. In addition, our rates remain the same regardless of the resident’s change in care needs. We are proud to be part of the HCR ManorCare family that includes skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospice and home health care services.

Arden Courts is a welcome answer for us. After a family member has been diagnosed with a memory impairment such as Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, the lives of that individual, their friends, and family members are forever changed. You realize: • the importance of preserving a routine and the familiar surroundings of home • how much your loved one needs the closeness of family and friends • the demands on you and your family have grown to a point where more help is needed • you can’t manage the care on your own • you don’t want your loved one to give up the comforts of home • making the decision to place a loved one is extremely difficult and heart wrenching

It’s like home with extra help.

Providing the best care possible requires the involvement of our Arden Courts staff, health care professionals, residents and their family members and friends. This is why family involvement is encouraged and welcomed at Arden Courts. To help maintain these relationships, connections and to provide families the opportunities to share with others, we offer:

We understand the importance of helping our residents continue to lead productive, independent lives. Our staff is specifically trained to care for those with memory impairments and provide the appropriate care to make that possible. Assistance may include: • dressing • bathing • toileting

• family nights

• supervision at mealtimes

• themed events • dinners

Our team also focuses on maintaining the normal routines of home by:

• special cultural and religious celebrations

• gathering for family style meals

• visiting time

• spending time on personal care and housekeeping

• support groups • educational seminars

• encouraging lifestyle activities that were part of each resident’s routine at home • making time for socialization and community events

Arden Courts is a unique approach to caregiving and was created to help people with memory impairments enjoy residential living, while receiving the professional assistance they need 24-hours a day. We have utilized more than 20 years of experience and research to develop our programs, environment and other facets of Arden Courts to meet the very specific needs of our residents and their families.

They offer a very personalized approach to care. We set out to accommodate and encourage individuality. We begin with an extensive assessment to learn each resident’s: • capabilities • preferences • health requirements • individual skills • enjoyment • history and home life A customized service plan is developed for each resident. Staff members work together with family members and residents to implement the personalized care plan and adjust as necessary.

The design is excellent – they’ve thought of everything. A lot of planning went into making Arden Courts feel as much like home as possible – warm, friendly, familiar and safe. At Arden Courts: • the layout is residential by design • there are visual cues to help maintain independence • the community is organized into four separate houses • each house has its own living room, dining room, kitchen, full bath and laundry • community areas provide additional space for events, mingling, exercise and fun • a secured backyard offers walking paths, gardening and socialization areas

It’s the special people who make it possible. A unique living arrangement like Arden Courts takes very special people to make it happen – people who are warm, friendly and professionally trained to provide care for individuals with memory impairments. Members of our staff: • are educated in the disease process and its management • receive extensive training and education, updates and refresher courses • get to know our residents and work with each of them on a daily basis to meet their individual needs

Arden Courts was created for people living each day with this disease – it’s not just an afterthought. Arden Courts was created exclusively for individuals living with memory loss so we are able to concentrate on the programs and life skills that best meet our residents’ unique needs – promoting their sense of independence and individuality, their health and their spiritual well-being. Our structured, success-oriented programming is planned and supervised by trained professionals. Programs are varied and appropriately timed, fulfilling a variety of purposes and abilities.
