Hawaii Youth Symphony

HYS has a long history of opening access to music to all of Hawaii’s children. For over 55 years, HYS has offered low-cost music-making to children across the state. Currently, students from over 130 schools and nearly every island participate in HYS programs. HYS is the only statewide music education organization in Hawaii, and the only venue where children from all over the state can meet and play together in an orchestral ensemble. HYS students enthusiastically collaborate to take their love of music into their communities. HYS offers need-based financial aid, neighbor island airfare, and merit-based scholarships to ensure state-wide accessibility to our music programs.
