Lasciata la gestione dell’albergo Minerva nel 1894 la famiglia Wirth si trasferì in autunno a Buergenstock dove Heinrich si occupò dei lavori che dovevano unire il Ristorante con il Park Hotel e pochi mesi più tardi, Heinrich rientrò a Roma per assumere la direzione dell’Hotel Quirinale, appena acquistato dal suocero dopo lunghe trattative. Sotto la sua direzione l’hotel prosperò e divenne ben presto e per tanti anni uno degli alberghi più prestigiosi della città. Sfortunatamente, il 28 Gennaio 1905, Cristina Bucher morì a Roma per insufficienza cardiaca. I figli erano ancora adolescenti e furono molto segnati da questo grave lutto. Per Heinrich Wirth fu un duro colpo: oltre al dolore per la perdita della giovane moglie tanto amata, dovette anche cercare di risolvere una serie di problemi di carattere organizzativo: infatti a Burgenstock, la moglie Cristina si occupava del Park Hotel e del Banhofrestaurant, mentre lui gestiva il Palace.
