This clinical placement provides experience in area nursing homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Perfect attendance is mandatory for all clinical sessions. Topics include the application of healthcare and disease theory in the clinical setting, infection control, environmental safety, performance of patient care skills, observation, reporting, and documentation. CPR for the Healthcare Provider; evidence of adequate immunization for rubella, chicken pox, and mumps; and proof of a current negative TB skin test or a negative chest x-ray reading required before admission to clinical. Physical requirements included the ability to lift, push, pull, etc. 50 pounds without restriction. Current enrollment in Nursing Assistant Theory required.
