Starting every show in a huddle, some occult energy is summoned, deemed good, and exploded into a set of writhing, jagged pop songs as beautiful and dangerous as shards of broken glass. You’d swear they were on the warpath, untill a pure rock and roll howl and sharp guitar hooks bring you back to the indie universe.
We’ll be bringing you super-secret plays from HPX headliners in our more intimate venues. Stay tuned to our social media channels for details... or just show up, you won’t be let down!

Indie-pop outfit The Elwins have been garnering a healthy amount of attention of late thanks to their bouncy brand of ’60s-tinged rock music and quirky, creative nature. Whether the sweet sounds are coming from a stereo or sweat-covered stage, it’s one you’ll want to get into sooner rather than later.
Writers’ Strike are an indie-rock band who believe in Bruce Springsteen anthems and Beach Boys’ harmonies. Armed with thundering drums and blazing synths, they pack their songs to the edges with hooks. Their incendiary live show has won over audiences from Halifax to Toronto.

This Toronto-born but Halifax-based comic provides a wild and unpredictable ride that varies from topics such as politics and the environment to observations of his bizarre existence. He attacks thug life culture, yet has had his own brushes with the law—come see him before he goes to jail.
Instead of adopting the usual joke/ punchline routine, Andie Bulman has created a style that revolves around the fast-paced succession of humourous stories. Talking about heavy subjects in a light/fun way while touching on themes like nostalgia, regrets, childhood, and the death of literature.
