FREEVIEW GETS AL JAZEERA

The English version of the Qatar based news service Al Jazeera, has announced that it will be showing up on the free-to-view digital television platform, Freeview. The channel is already available on satellite TV through Sky and Freesat, where it can be received in around ten million homes, but this deal with Freeview will effectively double its UK audience to around twenty million households. Al Jazeera will be on the air from 6 pm to 11 pm every day on Freeview channel 89 from its studios in London and in Washington.
