For nearly 40 years, GW’s Master of Tourism program has been producing the industry’s next great leaders. Students interact with peers and instructors from all over the world within a rich learning environment that combines individual experiences and interests with sustainable local and global initiatives. You can concentrate your studies in one of four areas, or take cross-concentration courses to develop your own tourism expertise: • Sustainable Tourism Management: Learn how to minimize the negative impact of tourism and preserve cultural and natural resources; optimize tourism’s contribution to economic development in local communities

• Sport Management: A $500 billion global business, no single aspect of our culture has the power to bring people together as sport; learn how to plan, organize, market, and lead sport activities, products, and services

• Event & Meeting Management: The MEEC industry generates significant revenue for cities, counties, and countries; learn how to bring important sources of economic growth to your community

• Hospitality Management: Employing nearly 220 million people and generating almost 10% of the world’s GDP, the hospitality industry is the core of travel and tourism; learn how to lead this important sector

We continually strive to equip our students with the knowledge and skills that contribute to personal and corporate success in a rapidly changing global environment. Dr. Douglas C. Frechtling, Ph.D.
