including an outdoor shower and a sunbathing area which gives a feel of floating over vegetation.The family’s favorite thing is spending most of their time outside, on the pool deck in the shade or in the living room with all the doors open. They love being outside and inside at the same time.

Two exterior guests bedrooms are joined by a courtyard. One of the rooms is used to retain both the swimming pool and the top terrace, and its roof, in turn, is used as an outdoor lounge. Cross drafts due to its location were solved with a wind chimney that works with temperature changes. This room only received the light filtered through the top of the trees, so they took advantage of the swimming pool to create a window, and thus allows light in causing a constant movement effect when it is sieved by water. This window has been a perfect means for David and the family to take memorable photographs under the water.
Dos recámaras exteriores para huéspedes se juntan gracias a un patio. Una de las recámaras se usa para juntar tanto la alberca como la terraza superior, mientras que el techo se utiliza como un área de descanso exterior. Se instaló una chimenea de viento que trabaja con cambios en la temperatura para las corrientes de aire cruzado que se generan debido a la localización. Este cuarto sólo recibe la luz que se filtra a través de los árboles, por lo que aprovecharon la alberca para hacer una ventana, y así, permitir que la luz causara un efecto de constante movimiento por el agua. Esta ventana ha funcionado de maravilla para que David y su familia hayan obtenido memorables fotografías bajo el agua.
So that little maintenance would be required, the outside was finished in polished concrete with incorporated color, which wears out as the house in turn does and protects it from the water. The inside consists of plaster painted in white, and the rest is wood, polished concrete, clear glass and natural aluminum.
Para que el mantenimiento fuera sencillo, el muro exterior se terminó en concreto pulido con color, el cual se va desgastando al mismo tiempo que la casa y la protege del clima. El interior consiste en emplastado pintado de blanco, mientras que el resto es madera, concreto pulido, vidrio y aluminio natural.
As part of the commitment to the ecology by the owners and architectural studio ColectivoMX, the house design includes a system to reuse grey water for watering, solar cells for electricity, ceiling fans instead of air conditioning, an emergency gas generator and a swimming pool with saltwater managed through solar panels.
Como parte de su compromiso con la ecología, tanto de los dueños como de ColectivoMX, el diseño de la casa incluye un sistema para reusar el agua para el riego, celdas solares para la electricidad, abanicos de techo en lugar de aire acondicionado, un generador de emergencia de gas y una alberca de agua salada a base de paneles solares.
We are very proud of our house, says David, and we really enjoyed the process of building it with Javier. It seems that the longer we have it, the more we appreciate the design and livability of the architecture. We have also been able to develop many good friendships with our neighbors.
