Pitt won its second straight road game...Gilbert Brown scored 13 of his career-high 17 points in the second half, his most memorable coming on a baseline drive and dunk in the second half...Brown’s jumper with 3:38 left gave Pitt a 66-62 lead and the Panthers converted 8-10 free throws the rest of the way for the win...Cincinnati opened the game on an 11-4 run but Pitt battled back with an 11-2 run fueled by a jumper and two free throws from Ashton Gibbs to take the lead...Gibbs finished the first half with 14 points...A Gary McGhee dunk gave Pitt a 38-32 halftime lead...Gibbs’ consecutive free throws made streak concluded at 46 as he missed the front end of two shots with three seconds left...Pitt won its sixth straight game and ninth in its last 10...Pitt improved to a perfect 4-0 with both Jermaine Dixon and Brown on the floor. Pitt overcame a five-point deficit (68-63) with 54 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime 69-69...Brad Wanamaker hit a 3-pointer from the corner to pull Pitt within one point (68-67) with 16 seconds left and Wanamaker was fouled and converted two free throws with 1.9 seconds left to send the game into overtime...Louisville missed four of five free throws in the game’s final 54 seconds and Pitt took advantage...In overtime, Ashton Gibbs hit a 3-pointer and Jermaine Dixon converted a jumper to give Pitt a five-point lead, but UL’s Preston Knowles hit a 3-pointer which cut the margin to 78-77 with 24 seconds left...Gibbs followed with two free throws and after UL missed a 3-pointer, Dixon sealed the win with an uncontested layup...Louisville led for the majority of the game, its largest lead of six points...Pitt’s Nasir Robinson registered his second career double-double and surpassed career-highs for scoring (26) and rebounding (11)...The win gave Pitt a 5-0 Big East record, which tied the school record for best start to a Big East season...Pitt defeated Louisville for the first time in the Petersen Events Center...It entered the game with a 0-2 record vs. UL in the arena. fta 0 5 1 7 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 0

Trailing by one point (49-48) with 8:58 left, Pitt’s Nasir Robinson converted a reverse layup and ignited a 92 run which gave the Panthers a 57-51 lead with 3:35 to go...Jermaine Dixon hit a layup and Ashton Gibbs made a 3-pointer in the rally...Pitt, which led the entire first half, built a 10-point lead (43-33) with 16:05 left to go in the second half, but UConn stormed back into the game with a 16-5 run before Robinson’s layup swung momentum back to Pitt...Pitt jumped out to an 18-8 lead early in the game using back-to-back 3pointers...Pitt won its third straight Big East regular season road game for the first time in school history...Pitt hit a season-high 85 percent of its free throws...Pitt outrebounded UConn 26-13 in the second half...Pitt won its third straight game and fourth matchup in five tries against UConn...The game marked the 10th time in the last 11 meetings that both teams entered the contest with national rankings.
