In his 43rd year, BILL HILLGROVE is the "Voice of the Panthers." Hillgrove's informative and enthusiastic play-byplay descriptions have been a Panthers trademark since 1969. A 1962 graduate of Duquesne University, Hillgrove has also served as play-by-play broadcaster for Pitt Football for the past 38 years. His longevity as a sportscaster has made him one of Pittsburgh’s most recognizable and favorite media personalities. He was named the Pittsburgh Steelers' play-byplay announcer in 1994. Hillgrove was

awarded the National Football Foundation’s 2007 Chris Schenkel Award, which honors a sports broadcaster who has enjoyed a long and distinguished career. Joining Hillgrove courtside for his 33rd year is color analyst DICK GROAT. A Pittsburgh native, Groat is one of the city's most enduring sports legends, making his mark in two different sports. A 2007 College Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, he was a four-time AllAmerica basketball and baseball player at Duke, where he is one of only 13 Blue Devils to have his number retired. Groat was named the 1952 College Basketball Player of the Year after becoming the first and only player in NCAA history to lead the nation in both points and

JAMIE DIXON RADIO SHOW Hosted by “Voice of the Panthers” Bill Hillgrove along with Jamie Dixon, The Jamie Dixon Radio Show will broadcast live on 93.7 The Fan (KDKA-FM) and other affiliates of the Pitt IMG College Radio Network. The show will air once per week between 67 p.m. beginning in January. The majority of the shows will take place on Thursday evenings. There are 11 total regular season shows with possible additional shows to be announced at a later date. The last two shows are scheduled for Mondays, the week of the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds. All confirmed dates and times will be released at a later date. assists in the same season. Groat played one year for the Fort Wayne Pistons before concentrating solely on professional baseball. As a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Groat captured the National League batting title as well as Most Valuable Player honors in 1960. That same year, the Pirates won the World Series over the Yankees in a dramatic seven game series. He later went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals, where he was a key figure on the 1964 World Series championship team. For the third season, CURTIS AIKEN joins Hillgrove and Groat on home radio broadcasts. A four-year Pitt basketball letterwinner from 1983-87, Aiken ranks among school all-time career scoring leaders with 1,200 career points. A key recruit who helped pave the way for Pitt’s entry into the Big East, Aiken was the senior leader on Pitt’s 1987-88 coBig East regular season champion team that finished 25-8 overall and 12-4 in league play.
