Sam Young scored a career and Pitt Petersen Events Center high 33 points in leading the Panthers to a 14point win...Young sparked Pitt by scoring 12 points in the second half’s first 10 minutes to help Pitt build a 17-point lead (57-40)...Young, who registered a career-high 13 field goals, finished with 18 second half points...He became the first Pitt player to score 30-plus points since Carl Krauser scored 32 vs. Syracuse on Jan. 23, 2006 ...His 33 points tied a Jamie Dixon-Ben Howland Era individual scoring high as Ricardo Greer also scored 33 points in 2000...Pitt converted 71.4 percent (15-21) of its field goals in the second half...Belmont was limited to 28.8 percent shooting (12-32) for the game...Pitt improved to 101-10 all-time in the Petersen Events Center.
