GREENEVILLE, TENNESSEE

In the spring of 2011, American Greetings made a donation of three large buildings on a 19.4-acre tract of land in Greeneville to the Boys & Girls Club of Greene and Greene County which will be the site of an expanded Boys & Girls Club facility that has been discussed for other locations for more than four years. The property is appraised at approximately $3.4 million. The Boys & Girls Club plans to move from its facility on West Church Street as soon as renovations have been concluded on the donated property.

MECO purchased Greeneville Stone, a manufacturer of stone veneer products, in July of 2009. The new division operates under the name Unaka Stone. Stone veneer products are used in the construction industry and are growing in popularity because of their lighter weight and lower cost. “We think Unaka Stone will position us to take advantage of the resurgence of the home building market as we recover from the effects of the recent financial slow down,” said Ward. The new division, under General Manager Eric Cobble, is focused on optimizing its production process and expanding its capacity. “All of us are very excited about being a part of MECO and being able to meet the demands of a growing market. These are great products and offer re-modelers and new home-builders advantages in flexibility of design as well as cost,” said Cobble.

Ward noted that these products are a natural outgrowth of MECO’s long history of supplying grills and folding outdoor products. Ward added, “We are very optimistic, not only about the current products, but also the opportunities for developing new applications for stone veneer. This enables us to expand our product base and strengthen our company profile.” Professional Vending Services, Inc., established in 1989, specializes in full-line vending, coffee, janitorial supplies, bottled spring water and catering services. They are a locallyowned vending company that takes great pride in providing state-of-the-art vending machines, customized menus, coffee, bottled spring water, and coolers directly to companies for business or home use. They also provide award winning catering services. Doug Fezell, president and owner of PVS says, “I feel that the service of our staff and the quality of the food that we offer are reasons that we’ve been so successful, and we really appreciate our customers.” Professional Vending Services uses a customized software program that helps them determine what customers need stocked in vending machines. Their drivers carry digital handheld computers that collect statistics about the best sellers each visit. They anticipate, based on customer-buying histories, what machines are going to need so the inventory is ordered and delivered twice each week to provide the freshest products. They stock favorite Pepsi and Coke products but include a lot more variety for greater selection. Some of the other selections include: flavored and spring water, V-8, juices, Sobes, teas, Powerade, Gatorade, and Dr. Enuf. They love to picnic and cater special events — from feeding all of the employees and families at the company picnic to safety dinners and special events. Enjoy the show while they provide homemade ice cream the old-fashioned way, made onsite with a 1929 John Deere hit-n-miss engine pulling four 5-gallon homemade ice cream freezers. Doug says, “We can cater your needs, serve multiple shifts, and even grill onsite.” Just contact a PVS sales rep for a custom quote for any catering need. Professional Vending Services is not just about vending. They provide spring water and a wide variety of coffee products. “If your office needs a fresh pot of coffee, we have a wide variety of coffee and condiments to fit your specific needs with the latest
