COACH DAN LAWRENCE 1942 Like his predecessor, Lawrence also helmed the PJC team for just one year. Lawrence mustered one win in the first season to take place during World War II. MAURICE “RED” ELDER 1946-51 A former All-American at Kansas State University who was actually drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1937, “Red” Elder led the football team to its best seasons. Today, he still has the third-highest winning percentage in school history. Like trivia? Elder’s grandson is NFL quarterback, Jeff Garcia.

Two-time all-conference selection, 1950-51 HARRY SIMMONS 1952-55 Known as “The Chief”, Simmons is immortalized as the longtime CSUPueblo basketball coach. But he helmed the football program for four years, as well, winning games at about a 50 percent clip.
