SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Mentoring, Bible Study, Volunteering, Help the Hungry WARM HEARTS MENTORING

WARM Hearts is a one-to-one mentoring program determined to move youth from risk to resiliency. The program helps build a better future for youth by matching them with an adult mentor for one year. Free of cost to families, trained mentors work to understand cultural and social development, risk factors, and offer ways to communicate and relate to youth. The goal of the program is to help youth gain positive, consistent, and nurturing relationships with adults, to build self-esteem, decision-making skills, improve school performance and make healthy interpersonal relationships. We are looking for adults to join our mentoring team. Please contact Nick for more information. Be a mentor, and inspire a future.

VOLUNTEERING

Dedicated volunteers, members, staff and donors enable the Y to provide invaluable services and programming to thousands of Wayne County’s children, families and individuals. Time and talent translates into helping a child, mentoring a teen or providing support. Volunteers are at the very core of the YMCA movement. They coach Y youth sports programs, work at Y service centers, tutor kids, assist with special events and help guide our branches as members of Y Boards of Advisors. Volunteers help create a safe, healthy environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. As a YMCA volunteer, you can lead a program, serve as a role model for young people, help out in the office or at a special event, raise much needed funds, or be part of a group or committee working on a neighborhood issue. No matter how you help, you'll make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of unity in your community. Do something good. Volunteer at the Y. There are many different ways to participate in this program. For non-members that wish to join the YMCA, we will waive your joining fee if you bring in a minimum of a $50 gift card from a department store (up to $150 in savings) from November 1st through December 15th. For others, you can help by donating money or gift cards and/or volunteer on December 13 to take a parent/guardian shopping or help with the children. Please contact Kriquette for more information!

The Y is for social responsibility, giving back and providing support to all our neighbors. The Y has been listening and responding to our communities’ most critical needs for 30 years. Whether developing life skills or emotional well-being, welcoming and connecting diverse populations or advocating for healthier communities, the Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve. The Y is for the entire community, and is open to everyone. Donors enable the Goldsboro Family YMCA, a charitable, non-profit organization in compliance with IRS code 501(C) 3, to offer a Financial Assistance Program for those individuals and families that qualify. We are here to serve you, your family and all of our community while developing your spirit, mind and body.

Welcome to your Y!
