DOMINANT CHARACTERS often command the scene and receive a disproportionate amount of respect, in contrast to passive personalities who are inclined to feel inadequate without any real justification. ‘Go getting’ style characters are generally hungry for power and easily get hooked on it. But often they get tense with ambition and are not really happy people in their search for new heights of achievement. Unfortunately, they become inconsiderate to others in the process. In a world where dominant opportunists tend to prevail, there is a need for more quiet thoughtful people with positive aspirations. They provide the balance to offset the negative trends of power hungry industrialists and politicians. We all have varying degrees of dominance and passivity in our genes and these traits are housed in two areas of the brain. The left side is masculine, ambitious, analytical, intellectual, and demanding. The right side is feminine, artistic, intuitive, holistic and sentimental. For instance, sergeant majors, police warders, boxers, and karate enthusiasts, enjoy assertive behaviour, but musicians, poets, artists, dancers, and philosophers, portray a softer nature. But almost everyone has a balance of these qualities and there are a number of grey areas. At times, even quite caring people show aggressive tendencies when emotion and stress swing their behaviour patterns. But spirituality is primary seeded by sensitive and intuitive people, expressing a quiet healing wisdom of the spirit. We should therefore qualify the value of success and check whether that ‘go getting’ person has the balance necessary to make holistic decisions.
