William Morris is a small and well-known school in Banbury, with a strong emphasis on family and community. We are enormously proud of the rapid improvements we have made in all areas since 2016, and GLF Schools is committed to continue this trend, improving our school year on year. Vision & Aims Vision William Morris Primary School will instil aspiration and high expectations for learning, to enable every child to fulfil their potential through excellence in all that we do. A very important partnership for us is working closely with our sister school, Longford Park, in Bodicote. We have a number of staff working across both schools, which means all children benefit from excellent support and shared resources.

Trust Aims William Morris Primary School is an academy within GLF Schools. Founded in Surrey, the Trust has primary and secondary schools across five local authorities including Surrey, Wokingham, Croydon, Oxfordshire and West Sussex. William Morris Primary School essentially became a brand new school when we converted to an academy and joined GLF in 2016. The CEO for GLF Schools is Jon Chaloner who founded the trust on the belief and determination that children will Grow, Learn and Flourish within the Trust. GLF Schools aim is to ensure that: 路

An inspiring curriculum At William Morris Primary School we are committed to providing warm, caring relationships and stimulating opportunities so that the children are happy and engaged in their new school.
The emphasis will be on teaching through engaging topics where creative learning is linked through exciting and relevant contexts that meet the different interests and needs of all the children.
We believe that children need to become learners for life to reach their full potential and so the curriculum will be key to achieving this.
Teachers and Learning Support Assistants will support the children’s learning using their knowledge and skills to make a difference to every child.
A rich and varied curriculum will provide opportunities for the children to develop skills including Literacy, Maths, Science and ICT as well as History, Geography, Art and Design, Religious Education, PE, Music and Modern Foreign Languages. We follow the outline of the national curriculum for the core subjects.

Extensive facilities As an established school, William Morris has some fantastic facilities in music, drama, sport, and ICT as well as the important core subjects of maths, English and science. We are thrilled to be a lead school for mastery in mathematics for Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties - often hosting events for other schools to ensure that all children benefit from leading edge teaching and learning skills in this key subject. We have a highly skilled and experienced staff body, including a team specifically dedicated to inclusion and working with families. We are also fortunate to have a specialist PE coach who works closely with children and staff. We are fortunate to have access to a coding and computing specialist teacher who teaches year 5 and 6 from another GLF School, Aureus School in Didcot. We are committed to providing children with opportunities to extend their independent learning and thinking skills using the appropriate tools and media.

Working and learning together

Working in partnership with parents and carers is key to successful learning. Being part of the William Morris family, you will have the opportunity to help us shape our school and build upon our already strong school community. We actively encourage parents to be involved with their children’s learning as well as promoting parental involvement in all aspects of school life.

Our open door policy facilitates opportunities for informal discussions and we regularly invite parents and carers to attend family learning events. We have an efficient and very successful PTA called the Friends
We are looking forward to forging relationships with new parents and carers in the years to come.
We have very close and active links with Tudor Hall School where they extend their experience and offer our children opportunities for enrichment, such as days out, and running sports clubs such as lacrosse.
