Year 9 Paris Trip The summer term saw another enjoyable and educational trip to Paris for the girls in Year 9. The group was completely immersed in the Parisian culture, staying in the Marais, the centre of the city of Love. Every morning started with a French patisserie and during their 4 days the girls went on to explore the beautiful sites of Paris, including a boat trip on the Seine, The Notre Dame and l’Opera Garnier. Year 9 also had the chance to see the incredible collections at the Louvre and the Pompidou Centre and some of the girls decided to fully embrace the culture, and try the delicious delicacy of French snails. A fantastic time was had by all!
Cordoba For seven days over the February half term, a record number of Spanish GCSE students from Leweston and Sherborne School immersed themselves fully into the life and language of Córdoba in Spain on a study tour to the city. The students attended lessons in the morning at Academia Hispanica and also participated in language workshops with Spanish pupils from Colegio de la Inmaculada. They stayed with Spanish families and had the opportunity to sample the local food in restaurants, enjoy a flamenco show in El Cardenal and visits to the great Mezquita/Catedral and the beautiful old city of Medinat-Alzahara, just outside the city.
