Charity calendars launch with style

Maria Mosley presented Jose Maria with the cheque

AFTER THE second successful showing of ‘On With The Show’, the Cardenal Belluga Theatre Group raised another €1,500 for SEM, the local ambulance service in La Marina. SEM took purchase of a new ambulance in August and the €1,500 that was raised in the May show bought medical equipment which enables broken limbs to be immobilised while travelling. The group will be starting rehearsals for the Christmas Carol Concerts on 8th November at the Theatre in San Fulgencio. If you are new to the area and would like to join them, please phone Maria on 966 715 891 or for further details email mariamosley3@hotmail.com

The 2011 calendars are now available to buy

IT WAS all systems go for SOL Productions TV at the Mind, Body and SOL Exhibition last weekend. The wonderful surroundings of the 5* La Finca Golf and Spa in Algorfa made the perfect backdrop for the launching of the 2011 Bikini Bash Charity Calendars to the 12 charities; all of whom are extremely good causes and were delighted with the results. Gina Marks, Managing Director of Sol TV said: “The charities were all so pleased with the calendars, they couldn’t wait to get them out into the local bars, business venues and their respective charity shops, so they can raise some much needed funds, hopefully just in time for Christmas, for their specific causes.” Priced at just €3 per calendar, the charities all agreed that they will sell quickly as they are so informative with local businesses and services, the ‘Red Day’ bank holidays, not to mention some stunning photos of the delightful models, the majority of which are local to our area.

Gina added: “Special thanks must also go to our celebrity, Lynda Bellingham, who supports the Costa Blanca Samaritans and granted us permission to use her publicity shot from he forthcoming UK tours of The Calendar Girls.” The calendars will make a great Christmas gift for your friends and family and all the money will be going directly to charity. So, look out for them in your local bars, businesses and the various charity shops and buy your calendar for 2011. SOL TV would like to thank all those who made it possible to make and print the calendar, especially the local businesses for their participation, without them it would not now be raising great sums of money for the charities, the total amount of money that can be potentially raised for the various good causes is €10,800 if they are all sold, so get buying! Suzanna Mace, Chairman of the Women in Business Club (WIBC), is one of the beneficiaries. She said: “We were absolutely delighted

to be contacted by Gina of Sol TV regarding their innovative idea of a Calendar with proceeds raised for local charities. The WIBC raises awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence here in Spain, so every little helps to give the victims support.” She added: “Well done to Sol TV for thinking of the idea and thinking of our cause. Good luck to everyone and don’t forget to buy a calendar!” The 2011 calendars are now available to buy so please support your local charities and buy one today. Meanwhile, if you missed the Exhibition, highlights will be on SOL TV in November. Also stay tuned for ‘The Making of the Bikini Bash Calander 2011’ as that documentary will be going to air and be available on line on www.solproductions.tv in late November. For more information, email office@solproductions.tv or call 966 761 050. Businesses if you would like to offer to help the charities to sell the calendars, then please get in touch with the SOL Team.
