IT’S SIMPLE: THE BETTER YOUR BIKE FEELS, THE LONGER YOU’LL RIDE. HAMMER UP CLIMBS, FLY DOWN DESCENTS - ALL DAY LONG.

A versatile design with a longer wheelbase and slightly taller headtube for endurance positioning produces a lightweight, smooth riding feel that makes the road disappear beneath you. Crafted from Giant’s Composite material, the all-new Defy Composite features innovative technologies including the PowerCore bottom bracket and OverDrive headtube for stiff pedalling efficiency and razor-sharp handling. The frame is also RideSense-ready, for use with Giant’s wireless ANT+ data device. See women’s version, Avail Composite on page 92.

5 Vector Seatpost

Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide solid front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.

Similar to Monocoque technology, but Modified Monocoque eliminates the outermost woven composite sheet (found on heavier framesets) to reduce weight without affecting ride quality, strength or stiffness.

3 PowerCore

A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86-millimetre-wide bottom-bracket design. Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.

A massive rectangular downtube and oversized toptube work in unison to provide superior front-end lateral and torsional steering precision. The precisely engineered, rectangular shaped downtube yields unprecedented pedalling stiffness. This full-composite, lightweight (210 grams) and highly aerodynamic seatpost is engineered specifically for the unyielding demands of the performance-minded road rider. Increased fore/aft stiffness provides maximum energy transmission, improved aerodynamics (compared to a traditional round seatpost) and two offset options (-5 to +25mm).

6 Computer Tuned

To minimise weight, Giant engineers use FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to develop a strategic layup schedule of Uni-Directional and woven composite. This ensures the precise amount of composite material where a frame requires it and minimises excess material where the structure doesn’t.

7 RideSense Ready

Frame comes prepared to accept the Giant RideSense sensor and accompanying hardware.
