True sTuDenT-aThLeTe Rebecca Rowsey set a standard for Georgia Basketball in every facet of her life. Rowsey’s “positive presence” was extremely valuable to the Lady Bulldogs, according to Andy Landers. When not injured, Rowsey was a regular in Georgia’s starting five. She also excelled in UGA’s prestigious Honors Program, graduating with better than a 3.7 GPA. In addition, Rowsey spent time during two summers traveling to Central America as part of religious and medical mission trips. Rowsey is currently in her second year of classes at the University of Tennessee’s Medical School in Memphis, continuing her path toward her ultimate goal of being a doctor.

we are The we are The chaMPions Former Georgia athletes enjoyed a banner year in professional sports in 2006 as seven former Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were members of teams which won the WNBA and NBA Championships and Super Bowl xL. Deanna Nolan and Hines Ward were MVPs of their respective championships. Shandon Anderson (left), a 10-year NBA veteran, earned an NBA ring with the Miami Heat.
