We have recently undergone a process of reviewing our Breeding Goal and have added greater emphasis on mastitis resistance. Our breeding focus at Genetics Australia now combines Mastitis Resistance with our long standing breeding goal of Profit, Type and Fertility. While they are regarded as the most important traits in our selection process, careful attention is still paid to workabilities, management traits and even individual type traits to ensure that our young sires produce the trouble free cows that dairy farmers demand today and will require in the future. Diversity of pedigree is also paramount when putting a progeny test team together and Team 2014 provides an unparalleled range of bloodlines from Australia and abroad.
