Students are then placed in student teaching placements in unique coastal and rural settings for thirty-five days. Central Queensland is a small institution (5,000 full-time students) that places strong emphasis on providing a caring environment and strong teaching. The Rockhampton campus is located amongst tropical gardens of native flora and fauna and adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. The first semester begins in midFebruary; the second semester begins in mid-July.
