Jamás antes Madrid giró tanto en torno a su gastronomía. Museos, galerías de arte, hoteles, tiendas, por supuesto, bares y tabernas, todos ellos al servicio de la cultura gastronómica. Gastrofestival nace con el objetivo de sacar las propuestas de Madrid Fusión a la calle. Podremos encontrar menús fijos e irresistibles ofertas que darán a Madrid su atractivo más apetitoso durante este invierno. Madrid has never revolved around cuisine quite like this. Museums, art galleries, hotels, shops and, of course, bars and pubs, all immersed in the world of cuisine. Gastrofestival is born with the aim of getting Madrid Fusion’s offerings out to the public. There will be fixed menus and irresistible specials providing Madrid with its most appetizing attraction this winter.
Ya que hemos paseado por algunos de los lugares más paradisíacos en la última edición de Fitur. España Baila Flamenco sigue sumando semanas de éxito en el Teatro Muñoz Seca. El espectáculo dirigido por Luciano Ruiz pone sobre escena a más de veinte artistas con coreografías de distintos estilos que dibujan un esbozo de la variedad cultural de nuestro país. We've already strolled through some of the world’s most ideal locations, as featured at the latest edition of Fitur España Baila Flamenco continues to enjoy week after week of success at the Muñoz Seca Theater. The show directed by Luciano Ruiz features more than twenty artists on stage with different choreographies in a range of styles illustrating our country’s cultural diversity.
Como cada año, FITUR da el pistoletazo de salida al calendario de IFEMA. Madrid vuelve a convertirse en el referente mundial del turismo con una de las ferias más importantes del mundo. En este 2011 la feria tiene el reto de mostrar la mejor cara del sector y demostrar los indudables argumentos que convierten al turismo en una de las mejores armas de la economía nacional. Desde el 19 al 23 de enero, diez pabellones de IFEMA nos permitirán dar la vuelta al mundo. Instituciones, empresas, promotoras, agencias, hoteles y consultoras tienen su punto de encuentro en Fitur. La organización tiene en la mente superar las cifras de visitantes del año pasado, cuando por el recinto pasaron casi ciento veinticinco mil profesionales y más de siete mil periodistas. Like every year, FITUR kicks off IFEMA’s new calendar of events, as Madrid once again becomes a hot spot on the international tourism scene, hosting one of the sector’s most important fairs. In 2011 the fair faces the challenge of showing the sector’s best face and demonstrating the indisputable merits that make tourism one of the national economy’s driving forces. From 19 to 23 January IFEMA’s 10 halls will allow visitors to tour the world. Institutions, businesses, developers, agencies, hotels and consultants all come together at Fitur. The organization has set its sights on beating the attendance figures from last year when the fairgrounds welcomed nearly one hundred and twenty-five thousand visitors and more than seven thousand journalists.

Después de muchos meses de éxito ininterrumpido, sigue en cartel La Venganza de Don Mendo. La inmortal obra de Muñoz Seca sigue haciendo reír al público con su humor ingenioso ambientado en época medieval. Esta producción propia del Teatro Victoria está dirigida por Juan Carlos Rodero. January brings another not-to-missed attraction to Madrid. After months of continuous success, La Venganza de Don Mendo (Don Mendo’s Revenge) continues its successful run. The timeless work by Muñoz Seca, set during the medieval era, keeps on making audiences laugh with its clever humor. This in-house production by the Teatro Victoria is directed by Juan Carlos Rodero.
El trabajo realizado durante estos años ha tenido su fruto en el reconocimiento de Carácter Internacional para nueve de los certámenes que celebrará la entidad aragonesa en este 2011. Los eventos que durante este año gozarán de esta distinción son: Enomaq, Tecnovid, Oleomaq, Oleotec, Fima Ganadera, Smopyc, PowerExpo, Qualimen y Frozen. The work done over these past years has paid off, as “International Character” recognition has been given to nine of the events which the Aragon entity will hold in 2011. Como cada año, Cartagena se viste de gala para presentar en FITUR su oferta cultural en este 2011. Puerto de Culturas, así es como define el Ayuntamiento a su ciudad y así es como lo muestra en la feria más destacada del sector turismo. Cartagena simboliza uno de los principales destinos culturales de nuestro país y plasma su historia en distintos lugares de la ciudad. Las diferentes civilizaciones han marcado los vestigios culturales de Cartagena con una huella que hoy se alza con fuerza. Iberos, fenicios, cartagineses y romanos han aportado su cultura y han marcado los lugares que los turistas pueden contemplar hoy. Una buena muestra de esta historia milenaria, es que en Cartagena se encuentra el único vestigio púnico de la península Ibérica: la muralla Púnica. Y en sus calles se alzan algunos de los edificios romanos más significativos del país. El Teatro Romano, el Augusteum, la Casa de la Fortuna o el Decumano son algunos de los restos arqueológicos más venerados por los amantes de esta cultura milenaria. Todos ellos, unidos a otras muchas actuaciones como el Castillo de la Concepción, o los refugios de la Guerra Civil, se enmarcan dentro del consorcio Cartagena, Puerto de Culturas.

Castle chambers from the 17th18th centuries have been revamped to extend and enrich this site’s contents, enlightening visitors on Cartagena’s medieval period, from Muslim rule until the Christian conquest under Prince Alfonse of Castile,later King Alfonse X the Wise.

El Ayuntamiento de Cartagena ha planteado diferentes itinerarios que recorren toda la ciudad. En el itinerario Arqueológico podemos ver la Muralla Púnica, que data del 227 a.C., el Museo del Teatro Romano o la Torre Ciega. En el recorrido Modernista y Ecléctico, el Fuerte de Navidad es el protagonista. Levantado en 1860, es muestra de de la importancia de Cartagena en el Eje del Mediterráneo. El itinerario Contemporáneo se centra en el mar. El Submarino Peral o el Museo Naval, remarcan la fuerza del mar en la historia de Cartagena. Desde el mar se produce uno de los paseos más atractivos por la ciudad, a bordo de su Catamarán Turístico. Además, la oferta cultural de Cartagena tiene citas imprescindibles a lo largo del año como Semana Santa, Carnaval, el Festival de Jazz, o las fiestas de Carthagineses y Romanos.
The city council of Cartagena has planned several itineraries that cross the city. In the Archaeological itinerary can see the Punic Wall, which dates back to 227 B.C., the Museum of the Roman Theatre, which has opened now a new stage, or the Torre Ciega. In the Baroque and Neoclassic itinerary we have to stop in the Door of the Arsenal. In the tour Modernist and Eclectic, the Fort of Christmas is the protagonist. The Submarine Peral or the Naval Museum, stress the force of the sea in the history of Cartagena. From the seaside can be seen of the most attractive routes of the city, on board of its Toursit Catamaran. In addition the cultural offer of Cartagena has indispensable appointments throughout the year as Holy Week, Carnival, the Festival of Jazz, or the festival of Carthagineses and Romans.

Los amantes de los deportes de invierno están de enhorabuena. Madrid SnowZone cuenta con veintitrés mil metros cuadrados dedicados en exclusiva al mundo de la nieve. La única pista cubierta de España permanece abierta durante todos los días del año y ofrece unas condiciones inmejorables para la práctica de esquí o snowboard, entre otras muchas actividades. El centro cuenta con dos pistas de nieve natural, una para principiantes y otra para expertos, y pone a disposición de sus visitantes todo el material necesario, equipos de esquí y snowboard, restauración y salas de reuniones. Los más pequeños tampoco tienen posibilidad de aburrirse gracias a alternativas como un tobogán deslizante, la celebración de cumpleaños, actividades extraescolares, campamentos o pista de patinaje. Se fundó como casa-museo para reunir obras del artista, entonces no muy apreciadas, así como para reflejar cómo vivió. It was founded as house-museum to assemble works of the artist, then not very valued, as well as to reflect how he lived.
La Sinagoga del Tránsito alberga en su interior el Museo Sefardí, donde se muestra el marco histórico y geográfico del pueblo judío. The Sinagoga del Transito shelters in its interior the Sephardic Museum, where there appears the historical and geographical frame of the Jewish people.
Sobre la Roca Tarpeya, antigua residencia del artista, se encuentra hoy el Museo de Victorio Macho. En estos momentos acoge las obras del Museo de El Greco. On the Rock Tarpeya, old residence of the artist, one finds today Museo Victorio Macho. In these moments it receives the works of the Museum of El Greco.
Alberga la extraordinaria colección de obras donada por Esteban Vicente, el único miembro español de la primera generación de la Escuela de Nueva York del Expresionismo Abstracto Americano. It shelters the extraordinary collection of works donated by Esteban Vicente, the only Spanish member of the first generation of the School of New York of the Abstract American Expressionism. Pintura, artes decorativas y objetos curiosos ponen de manifiesto el afán coleccionista del matrimonio formado por don Ángel Rodera y doña Rafaela Robles. Painting, decorative arts and curious objects there reveal the zeal collector of the marriage formed by don Ángel Rodera and dona Rafaela Robles.
Recoge importantes piezas distribuidas en tres colecciones de bellas artes, etnografía y arqueología. Entre ellas destacar las pinturas de la escuela hispano flamenca y el sepulcro de doña Aldonza de Mendoza. It gathers important pieces distributed in three collections of fine arts, ethnography and archaeology. Between them the paintings of the school emphasize Hispanic Flemish and doña Aldonza of Mendoza´s sepulcher.

Se presenta. Piropea a las mujeres y hace escarnio amistoso del hombre. Se ríen y entonces empieza a contar su historia, más bien su colección de méritos, uno por uno y de carrerilla como si fuera un guía del monasterio. Dice que es el hombre más importante de los alrededores. Les da una tarjeta. Pone J. D. C y debajo todos sus cargos y medallas. Se despiden. Parece haber olvidado algo y se da la vuelta, pero ellos ya están lejos y se disponen a cruzar el arco. Antes de hacerlo, el joven mira hacia atrás y levanta el brazo en señal de despedida. J. D. C ya se ha girado y sólo se ve su sombrero, que se mueve, como si estuviera enfadado.

Parece enfadado. Se le oye quejarse mientras mueve la cabeza con la mirada baja. Su voz es grave. Ha llegado casi hasta el arco, cuyo tránsito se ha despejado, y da la vuelta. Ahora sí utiliza el bastón para apoyarse. La tarde declina y una nube oscura pretende acelerar el proceso. Las hojas secas repiquetean sobre los adoquines, barridas por un viento que sopla a rachas. Ha abordado a un hombre y dos mujeres jóvenes.

Su tronco se inclina hacia delante unos treinta grados de la vertical de sus piernas, cortas y acabadas en unos pies largos cuyas puntas no pisan nunca el suelo.

Hay atasco en el arco de entrada y salida a la lonja del monasterio. Una señal indica la preferencia de los coches que salen, aunque son más numerosos los que entran, que esperan en cola, como enmarcando el jardincillo que siempre vigila, imperturbable, un tal…. Hay una calle estrecha, adoquinada y paralela al arco. Parece más bien una salida del bullicio, que, sin embargo, nadie toma. A la derecha está la Universidad y la izquierda colinda con un lateral del jardincillo. Por allí camina, arriba y abajo, J. D. C.
