The winning projects were: Fazendo Minha História Program Instituto Fazendo História Organization São Paulo City -SP The Instituto Fazendo História started life in the city of São Paulo, in 2002, and today is present in 30 shelters in the municipal districts of Apucarana (PR), Campinas (SP), Duque de Caxias (RJ), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), São Luís (MA), São Paulo (SP) and Presidente Prudente (SP), benefiting 160 children from 0 to 6 years of age. This Program works based on the dispositions of Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) and views the child from the point of view of their life story. This initiative provides a space for children and adolescents to create albums containing their personal histories and thereby reinforce their self-esteem and sense of identity.

Lugar de Palavra Project Núcleo de Atenção à Violência Organization Nova Iguaçu City - RJ Carried out by the Núcleo de Atenção à Violência – NAV, since 2007, this project is dedicated to breaking the perverse cycle of violence, in work aimed at childhood and adolescence. As the name of the project suggests, the main idea is that the child can find a space where his/ her words are valued, where they can be heard and helped, and where they can speak without fear of being punished.

Vale a Vida - Juntos Por Um Futuro Melhor Project Vale do Ivaí S/A Açúcar e Álcool Organization São Pedro do Ivaí City - PR Since August 2005, the Vale do Ivaí S/A Açúcar e Álcool company, in partnership with Pastoral da Criança, has been carrying out preventive actions aimed at pregnant women and their babies among its own staff and community members in the municipal district of São Pedro do Ivaí, in the state of Paraná, and in São Miguel do Cambuí, in the state of Minas Gerais. In 2008, the initiative was expanded and a healthcare team from the company carries out the actions recommended in the manual drawn up for the project, which advises the pregnant women who work for the company and from a further 13 municipal districts, attending a total of 255 women per year. Promoting the Development of Malnourished Children: A New Conception Project Instituto de Prevenção à Desnutrição e à Excepcionalidade Organization - Fortaleza City - CE Boosting the development of children in situations of social vulnerability and strengthening the bonds between them and their carers are the main goals of this initiative carried out by the Institute for the Prevention of Malnutrition and Special Needs – IPREDE (Instituto de Prevenção à Desnutrição e à Excepcionalidade), in the city of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará. Currently, the initiative attends 800 children from 0 to 6 years of age. The work is based on five activity groups, from reception to the interdisciplinary approach. All of the work is carried out with a focus on the social-economic and emotional reality of the children and their families.

What is the Prêmio Criança Program? It contributes to promoting full protection of children from 0 to 6 years of age, as well as pregnant women and women in labor.
