TWO YEARS AGO, Fringe Supply Co. began life
as an online holiday pop-up shop with twelve items for sale. The only people who knew about it were readers of my blog, Fringe Association, and there weren’t so many of those then. But the response was so encouraging I opened the virtual doors for good in late February 2013, and have never looked back. These days, we have many more than twelve items for sale, but it’s still a comparatively small collection of beautiful, useful, durable goods that I have either designed or found along the way. For the holidays this year, I have a dozen new treasures to share with you, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to present them — alongside some of our tried-and-true favorites — in clickable catalog form. And I have my friend and fellow knitter Kathy Cadigan to thank for the exceptional photos of it all. At the top of my list is the all-new Fringe Supply Project Bag, pictured on the cover. And at left. And on the following pages. Could I have thrown in any more images of this beauty? Yes! This was me being restrained; I am that obsessed with it. We’ve been working on it for almost a year and I am over the moon that it’s finally here — albeit in limited quantities for the holidays. But there’s more! Bookhou favorites in metallic gold for the season, elegant new scissors, bone crochet hooks, glass tapestry needles, handcrafted skin balm, carved wood bowls … These really are things to use and to treasure — to give and to receive — and I hope you love them as much as I do.
