Book Corner

Hello everyone! Father’s Day - it’s not too far away. My dad has been passed away for many years now but he is still thought of almost everyday. When I was growing up, my dad was head of our home. He was a person you could count on and he was always true to his word. My dad was a lot of fun but he had also learned how to cope with some hard times. We all have. I found this book most fitting to pay tribute for Father’s Day. The men and women in these stories learned that hardship gives way to greatness and tough times provide the best climate for moral and spiritual development. Also, before I forget, I’d like to remind you about the summer reading program being held at our library for kids! The big kickoff is June 8 at 6 p.m.! The program runs from June 11 through Aug. 3. The theme for this year is “Dream Big!” The kids have a great time and so do adults! Until next time, may all of your father’s have the best day ever! Your friend, Sherry Sherry Kline Bolitho Adult Book: Title: What’s So Good About Tough Times Authors: Mixed Compiled and Edited By: Joe Wheeler Publisher: Waterbrook Press Price: $15.95 Available at the Carroll County District Library In this collection of 20 stories, you will learn the meaning of the timeless question, “What’s so good about tough times?” The stories are broken into three chapters, Part 1: Heartache; Part II: Hope and Part III: Healing. Some of the stories have to do with accepting one’s role in life or what can’t be changed.
