Skate Parks

The Fox Valley Park District maintains 164 parks and 45 miles of interconnected trails amid 2,500 acres of parkland and 22 miles of Fox River shoreline. Park service coverage is spaced throughout Aurora, North Aurora and Montgomery, providing virtually every resident and neighborhood with convenient, nearby access to parks and open space.

•  Hupp Skate Park is located at the corner of Illinois Avenue and Orchard Road in Aurora. Park hours are dawn to dusk year-round. Skaters: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Bikers: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday. Note: Insurance regulations require that skaters and bikers not use the park at the same time. •  Wheatlands Park skate area is on the east side of the park at Barrington Drive and Eola Road. Only skaters are allowed at Wheatlands.

Dog Parks The park district has two dog parks: •  Lincoln Park Dog Park, at the south end of Lincoln Park at South Harrison Avenue just north of Prairie Street and east of Elmwood Drive •  Gregory Island Dog Park, between Routes 25 and 31 on Indian Trail Dogs must be registered with the park district. Dog tag registration may be done by mail, email, online or fax by filling out the registration available online at foxvalleyparkdistrict.org or in person at the park district police office, 1460 S. East River Road in Montgomery (office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays). Fee per dog is $15 for residents; $30 for non-residents. For more information, hours and guidelines, visit foxvalleyparkdistrict.org.

Fishing Lakes and Boat Ramps The district has a variety of fishing lakes for some relaxing fun. To ensure longterm, quality fishing at its lakes, the Fox Valley Park District has a cooperative management agreement with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources that is intended to develop healthy eco-systems and improve fishing quality. Rather than stock and re-stock regularly, the lakes management program creates a fishery that is self-sustaining. The payoffs for fishermen are greater catch rates and bigger fish. Printable contour maps of select lakes are available online at foxvalleyparkdistrict. org. The maps feature lake depths and shoreline features, along with specific information on fish species, average numbers and sizes, and creel limits. Fishing lakes with off-street parking include: •  Foxcroft Lake, Elder and Birch, Aurora •  Jericho Lake, Jericho Road, Aurora •  Lake Gregory/Blackberry Farm (with paid admission), 100 S.
