GIVE US THE RUNDOWN ON THE RAMPS AT YOUR HOUSE. I’ve had the ramps about seven months now. I wanted a basic set up that wouldn’t get boring- something I would love to ride everyday but would be a little bit of a challenge. I wanted a spine mini ramp with a sub and I just connected a box and two ten foot quarters. I made the ramp bigger than the ramps I usually ride because I wanted it to scare me so it would make other ramps easier to ride. WHAT’S THE CRAZIEST TRICK THAT’S BEEN THROWN DOWN ON THEM? I’d have to say the craziest trick done on the ramp is a double back flip on the box by Andy Buckworth. The box is bigger than a regular box and the landing is really steep so you have to land perfect in it or it will hurt. HAS ANYBODY GOTTEN HURT OUT THERE? ANY HOSPITAL RUNS? Yeah, there have been two hospital runs. First one was my friend Colton Satterfield, he fell the first week I had the ramp and tore his urethra in half. The second one was Connor Nex, he fell off the ten foot ramp and shattered his arm. Injuries suck. WHAT DO THE NEIGHBORS THINK? I think for the most part my neighbors all like it. They all seem real cool about it and if they don’t, nobody has told me yet!

# F OX W E L I V E / F OX H E A D . C O M / W E L I V E I remember Todd, our team manager, telling me that this trip was my turn to shoot an ad. I found this spot on Google maps a few days before and marked it as one to check out. We made it out there the next morning to see if it was hittable. When I first saw it I didn’t think it had enough run up, so we ended up leaving and checking out more spots on the list we had made. The next day Reed wanted to go back to this spot and check it out again. He wanted to try to hit it. I was shocked but stoked! So we missioned and got the winch set up down at the bottom by these benches. Now this spot is

kind of sunken into the ground. Not many people can see into it from the road. Only people that are chilling in the park can see us. Reed asked if I wanted to try first. I figured he had more of a fighting chance at making it over the stairs so I kindly declined. Reed hit it maybe 6 times and nailed a huge ollie down it. Then Ian comes up to me and says “Bru... this is your ad! Get out there!” By now there was a bigger crowd watching from the stairs. People - streets - living - in the thick of Barcelona.. it was perfect. I felt bad at first and turned

the offer down because I didnt want to steal Reed’s thunder. Then I realized I was here to get my ad and we really get to do this for a living. So I put on my boardies and got out there. Reed had waxed the concrete stair above it to get more of a run up out of the pool which helped. That feeling of hitting a big spot for the first time is gnarly.. always a buzz! Just go.. Ended up getting an ollie out first try, a frontside 180 and a shifty. This photo is one of my all time favorites of my whole career. I love living my life and being a part of trips like these!

B R E A K D O W N The story of Dieter Humpsch, Reed Hansen, Bob Soven and Danny Harf’s epic wake trip to Barcelona, Spain. The guys hit some amazing street spots, practiced their Spanish, and got to tour the new Fox Head Europe HQ. This trip was one for the books.

“THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT HITTING A SPOT FOR THE FIRST TIME THAT IS UNMATCHED BY ANY OTHER TYPE OF RIDING” WHO HAD THE WORST/MOST ANNOYING HABIT ON THE TRIP? Bob: The filmer guy Ben by far had the worst habits, he also refused to practice personal hygiene. Danny:Trying to park in Barcelona with a large cargo van anywhere near our destination became a daily habit that was sometimes painful. Especially if you were in the back of the van, that smelled like wet board bags. WHAT WAS THE FUNNIEST COMMENT OR REACTION WHEN YOU WERE RIDING THROUGH THE CITY?

HOW DOES RIDING IN THESE UNIQUE SPOTS COMPARE TO RIDING STANDARD CONTESTS SPOTS/CONTESTS? Reed: It doesn’t compare. The satisfaction of building something and the satisfaction of finding something that was built for something else but will work perfect for what you want to do is so different. It really feeds your exploration side. Bob: I think it’s always better to go find your spot then ride in a contest or at a cable, there is something about hitting a spot for the first time that is unmatched by any other type of riding. DID YOU EVER GET BUSTED?

Dieter: I think the funniest for me was when we hit the big gap in Barcelona. This kid was so interested that he came and stood right in the way of the gap to get a closer look. I dont think he knew what was going to happen. Danny had to go grab him and get him away from the rope. Bob: I thought it was pretty funny how receptive everybody was of us, they would just stop and watch like we were putting on a free show for the city. DID YOU INTERACT WITH THE LOCALS MUCH? Bob: We were constantly interacting with the locals, Danny and I were practicing our Spanish every chance we got. Everyone said my Spanish came out so confidently but no one that spoke Spanish could understand it, haha.

Reed: Oh yeah, that’s a big part of riding new spots like that. Sometimes you spend all day hitting it and the cops come and think it is awesome and other times they want to take you downtown and question you. You just never know. Danny: Reed had a close call with some cops. We thought we were free and clear but our van gave us away as we were tracked down by a few angry bums and some security guard who called the cops. Reed narrowly avoided going to jail and paid a ticket on the spot. The cops googled Reed after Tommy told them he was a world champion and the cops all took pictures with Reed by the time it was over. Bob: Oh yeah, we got busted so many times. Comes with the territory.
