Elliott - Petru Engagement
The parents of Nancy Jean Elliott and Travis Eugene Petru are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Quenton Elliott, Jr. of Sugar Land, Texas. She is a 2004 graduate of Dulles High School, and a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University, with a degree in English. While at A&M, she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. Nancy teaches English at Stafford High School. Travis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Petru, also of Sugar Land, Texas. He is a 2004 graduate of Dulles High School, and a 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Economics. Travis is an appraiser with the Harris County Appraisal District. The couple is planning a July wedding in Richmond, Texas, after which they will make their home in Houston.

Volunteers needed for clean-up project at Cullinan Park As part of its “Project a Month” program, the Bayou Preservation Association (BPA), in conjunction with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, (HPARD) will hold a clean-up event on Saturday, June 26 from 8 a.m. – noon. at Cullinan Park at Oyster Creek, 11940 Highway 6 South, Sugar Land, adjacent to Sugar Land Regional Airport. Community members and interested citizens are invited to partner with BPA and HPARD
and volunteer their time to help make a difference at Cullinan Park. No previous experience is required, and volunteers will help pick up trash, remove invasive exotic plant species, clear brush along trails and fill in trail potholes. Volunteers must sign a release form before participating in any activities at Cullinan Park and Oyster Creek. Anyone under age 18 must have a parent or a guardian sign the waiver form, which is available on the

First Baptist Church of Missouri City to host reunion First Baptist Church of Missouri City is having their first reunion since 1994 on the weekend June 26 and 27 on the church campus 2106 5th St. The festivities for former members and attenders begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday in the gym with lunch at noon catered by Chick-Fil-A with a good old “Baptist Style Bring-A-Dish” salad and dessert tables. below for lunch. From 2-4 PM there will a “Kid’s Time” outside with a petting zoo, pony rides, moon walks, face painting and balloon animals. From 4-6 PM there will be a program in the sanctuary with a reunion choir and special music, former staff and members sharing and an historical slide show. There will be some offcampus evening events as well

Saturday evening. The Sunday service at 11:00 AM will be co-lead by former and current staff members. Donations will be accepted for the “Sign Fund” to help replace the FBC signage that was destroyed with the expansion of 5th St. Everyone in the community is invited to join the alumni for the Sunday service and all the neighborhood kids please come enjoy our Saturday “Kid’s Time” from 2-4 PM. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mills are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Lauren, to Cody Jack Gladney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gladney of Amarillo, Texas. The bride-to-be graduated from Clements High School in 2005 and received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas A&M University in 2008. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Ashley is currently working in Irving, Texas. The prospective groom graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo in 2002. He received both his bachelor’s degree in animal science in 2006 and master’s degree in animal breeding and genetics in 2008 from Texas A&M University. Cody was a member of FarmHouse fraternity. He now works in Garland, Texas. A late summer wedding is planned in Richmond, Texas. Following a honeymoon to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Little Elm, Texas.
Beau is a handsome, smart 7 months old boxer mix. He loves playing with other dogs and loves to be around people too. He is gentle with children and would make a great family pet and companion. Dr. and Mrs. Chris Stivers of Agoura Hills, California are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly Beth to Vincent Earl Chambers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Buford Chambers of Sugar Land, Texas. Holly and Vincent graduated from Seaver College of Pepperdine University in 2007. Holly is a high school Spanish teacher at Royal High School in Simi Valley California. Vincent received his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law in May, 2010. A late summer wedding is planned in Malibu, California.
