The scene at last Thursday’s City Centre at Quail Valley for the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce hosted network nites was idyllic for the get together. What a beautiful facility that turned out to be and it’s worth a visit. Missouri City Mayor Allen Owen told guests that the golf course and facility were built with taxpayer approval from a referendum passed towards that end. projects, one of which was the Quail Valley golf course. Eminent domain ring a bell? The decline of the property and its operation posed what were determined to be detrimental effects on Missouri City as a whole, and city officials with public support and engagement moved forward. The rest is history and a new set of significant chronologies for both the city and visitors to the golf course and its amenities will no doubt be remembered. Just ask golf course General Manager Tyson Stilleburg, Food and Beverage Manager Ken Lewis and Economic Development Director Bob Graf from the city staff, who were at the networking event. Also spotted, Lisa Glenn and Cher Binks can tell you a thing or two. Chamber’s President Keri Schmidt and her staff, by the way, put out reminders of the upcoming Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair it organizes.
